National History The first chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma was founded by a group of ten passionate women in 1913 at Hunter College located in New York, NY. Our founders aspired to create a sorority that would work to promote open membership to all women of character, regardless of background. This aspiration made Phi Sigma Sigma the first nonsectarian sorority committed to sisterhood, excellence in scholarship, and selfless giving.
Epsilon Iota Chapter History Phi Sigma Sigma was initiated at Bridgewater State University on February 10th, 1989. The Epsilon Iota chapter at BSU strives to uphold the standards of sisterhood established by our founders, to improve our community and ourselves through scholarship, philanthropy, and strong social bonds. Every day our sisters "aim high," to develop leadership skills through service, and embrace diversity.
